Available Scholarships
For this year’s registration, here are the two scholarships we offer to support your educational journey.
Academic Excellence
This scholarship honors high academic achievers with an exemplary record of educational accomplishments. It’s designed to support ambitious students who have not only excelled in their studies but also show great potential for future academic and professional achievements in higher education.
Community Work
This scholarship recognizes students who have significantly contributed to their communities with passion. It’s aimed at those who have combined their academic pursuits with impactful community service, demonstrating leadership and commitment to making a difference.
Eligibility Criteria
- Registration form completed and signed
- Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status in Canada
- Be a resident of the province of Ontario
- Copy of your Ontario ID with your address
- Be of Hispanic origin
- Grade 12 Certified transcripts from an Ontario High school.
- Have an average of 80% or more from their grade 12 marks.
- Must be registered to attend the first year of university or college in Ontario.
- Letter of acceptance from the College or University you will be attending in the coming academic year
- Submit 200-word essay explaining why you should be considered for one of the scholarships.
- Submit a minimum of two reference letters from school, organizations representatives, etc. where academic, leadership and/or volunteer activities have been taken/took place.
- Must present a summary of their leadership activities/work carried out, including a description of the type of activity/work, dates, results, achievements, and future projects, if any.

The scholarship registration period for this year is open from May 1st at 12:00am EST to June 20th at 11:59pm EST.
To maintain fairness and organization in the selection process, we only accept applications during the official registration window from May 1st to June 20th.
The two scholarships being offered this year is the academic excellence and community work scholarships.
Applicants are welcome to apply for both scholarships, but are eligible to receive only one award per academic year to ensure fair distribution of funds.
The scholarships are designed to support students as they transition from high school to post-secondary education. Therefore, current university or college students are not eligible to apply.
Do not modify
Applicants are required to submit the following:
- Grade 12 transcript from an Ontario school
- Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
- Proof of enrollment from an Ontario college or university
- Summary of leadership activities
- A 200-word personal essay
- Minimum of two reference or recommendation letters
LASF will make a one time lump payment directly to your college or University and applied towards tuition and education expenses.
Scholarship funds are intended for tuition, books, academic fees, and other necessary educational expenses to support students as they pursue their post-secondary studies.
No, our scholarships are meant to provide initial support as students begin their higher education journey.
Recipients of our scholarships will be notified by August 16th and we invite all applicants and their families to join us at our annual award gala ceremony where we will officially announce and celebrate the winners.
